AI Usage Disclosure

This page explains where Homjo uses artificial intelligence, what each feature does, which provider processes the data, what data it sees, and the human oversight in place. It is published under Article 50 of the EU AI Act (transparency obligations for AI systems), and we keep it accurate against the running product.

Two structural guarantees apply across everything below:

  1. Homjo never uses AI to rank or allocate people or tasks. When a request is shared with providers, it goes out without any ranking, scoring, or AI-driven ordering — the person who posted the request reads the offers and chooses manually.
  2. Nothing an AI writes is posted as yours without your say-so. Every drafting feature produces a suggestion you accept, edit or discard. The one AI feature that publishes without a person clicking — the community events import — is described below, with what is and is not human-reviewed.

A human is always reachable about any AI feature or AI-influenced decision: support@homjo.com. Moderation decisions additionally carry an in-app appeal reviewed by a human (see "Content moderation" below).

You can tell AI-produced content apart by the ✨ AI-suggested / AI-generated / Auto-imported labels shown next to it.

If AI is unavailable. Homjo has a single switch that turns every AI feature off. When it is off, drafting, translation, image generation and the assistants below simply do not appear; text moderation falls back to the fixed-pattern filter; and image uploads are refused rather than published unscanned.

Unless stated otherwise, the language model used is Anthropic's Claude Haiku 4.5, called from Homjo's servers.

Writing assistance

What it does: Optional buttons that suggest text you can edit or discard — Connect bio improvements, listing description suggestions, offer pitch tips, Provider Studio module outlines and per-section writing help, draft item lists for a catalogue, and draft feedback questions for an event you organise.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5).

What data it sees: The text you have typed into that field (for example, your bio draft or module topic) plus minimal context you already chose — listing title, category, role, and your interface language. Your name, email, and account identifiers are not sent.

Your control: Suggestions are starting points. Nothing is posted, saved, or sent to anyone unless you accept and submit it yourself. Suggested text is labelled AI-suggested.

Photo captions for Boosted Stories

What it does: When you build a Boosted Story from your listing photos, a vision model suggests a caption and an order for the photos you picked.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5, vision).

What data it sees: The listing photos you selected and the listing's title and category. Text that would express a preference based on a protected characteristic is removed from the suggestion.

Your control: You can rewrite every caption and reorder every photo before publishing. Suggested captions are labelled AI-suggested.

Match Scout (Connect search assistant)

What it does: You describe who you are looking for in plain language; Match Scout searches the Connect profile pool and suggests up to a handful of candidate profiles with a short reason for each, or asks you a clarifying question.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5).

What data it sees: Your search message, your own Connect profile (category, role, tags, bio), and the candidate profiles returned by the search — including the age and gender a person chose to show on their profile.

How the search works: The underlying candidate search is a deterministic tag-and-recency match, not an AI ranking. The search tool Match Scout is given has no age, gender or other protected-characteristic filter, and any such filter it tried to pass is discarded before the search runs. Its suggestions are advisory: you decide whom to view or contact.

Setup Kit Concierge

What it does: Suggests utility and service providers based on your setup answers when you ask for help choosing.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5).

What data it sees: The answers you gave in the Setup Kit flow (home situation and service needs) and your interface language.

Your control: Suggestions are informational only — you choose your providers, and Homjo receives no commission that influences the suggestions.

Listing import from a screenshot

What it does: If you already posted an ad elsewhere, you can upload a screenshot and have the listing form prefilled.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5, vision).

What data it sees: The screenshot image you upload and nothing else. Wording in the description that would express a preference based on a protected characteristic is removed before it reaches the form (the fixed list of patterns is in English; the normal multilingual checks then run when you post).

Your control: The result only prefills the form — you review and edit every field before posting, and the normal content checks still run on submission.

AI cover images

What it does: Generates an optional cover image for a listing when you don't have a photo.

Provider: Replicate (Flux image models).

What data it sees: A prompt Homjo builds from your validated listing fields (title, category, area). You cannot type a free-form image prompt, and the generated image is scanned by our image moderation before it can be used.

Your control: Generated images are clearly labelled AI-generated wherever they appear. Images you generated in the last 90 days are kept in an album so you can reuse them; older ones are removed the next time the album is opened. Under the Content policy, Homjo may remove or replace a generated image (or the listing carrying it) that is unlawful or could cause harm or distress — with a statement of reasons and a right of appeal.

Translation

What it does: Translates a listing (title and description) or a single chat message into your language — only when you press the Translate button. Nothing is auto-translated.

Provider: AWS Translate (processed in the EU, eu-west-1 region).

What data it sees: The specific text you asked to translate and the language pair. For chat, only a participant in the conversation can request a translation, and translations are cached so the same text is not sent twice.

Content moderation (text)

What it does: Checks listings, bios, offers, and Provider Studio content against our content rules — in particular the Equal Status Acts rules against discriminatory ads. Two layers run: a deterministic keyword/rule check (not AI), and an AI review for wording the rules can't catch. Private messages and requests are checked by the deterministic layer only, and are logged rather than blocked.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5) for the AI layer.

What data it sees: The text being checked.

Human oversight: Automated flags restrict visibility pending review; a human moderator makes removal decisions. Every restriction or removal generates a statement of reasons in your dashboard which says whether automated means were involved, and you can appeal it in-app to a human reviewer.

Image moderation

What it does: Scans uploaded photos for content that breaks our rules (explicit or violent imagery).

Provider: AWS Rekognition (processed in the EU, eu-west-1 region).

What data it sees: The image you upload.

Human oversight: A flagged image goes to a human moderator; any decision to remove a listing over an image is taken by a human, comes with a statement of reasons, and can be appealed in-app.

Community events (auto-imported)

What it does: Extracts event details (name, date, venue) from public council and tourism websites so local events appear on Homjo. The sources switched on today are Dublin City Council and Visit Dublin. Code exists for other public sources (Pure Cork, Discover Ireland's open-data feed, Eventbrite organiser feeds) but none of them runs; this page changes before one does.

Provider: Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5).

What data it sees: The public web pages being read. No Homjo user data is involved.

Human oversight: Every extracted event is checked automatically for a valid date, a matching city and duplicates. Events that pass every check are published by the system; anything doubtful, duplicated or rejected waits in a queue for a person to approve or discard. Published events are labelled Auto-imported, each event page links to its original source, and anyone can report an event from its page.

What Homjo does not do with AI

  • No AI ranking, scoring, matching, or allocation of people or tasks.
  • No fully automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you — content-removal decisions involve a human, carry a statement of reasons, and are appealable to a human.
  • No AI training on your data by Homjo — we do not build or fine-tune AI models on user content.
  • No emotion recognition, biometric categorisation, or social scoring.

Our AI providers are also listed, with regions and data-protection agreements, on the Sub-processors page.
